We celebrated our Apprentices to mark National Apprenticeship Week

SB-JLM-Edit-Inside

National Apprenticeship week ran from Monday 6th February to Sunday 12th February to showcase the impact Apprenticeships and work-based training can have on companies, communities and the individuals who enrol on these types of courses.

To celebrate at MSP, we had a chat with two of our apprentices to learn why they took this route into employment.

Steven and Jonathan joined MSP in 2022 on Level 3 Software Development Technician Apprenticeships, with Jonathan working on Renishaw’s UCCsever and Steven working with the AutoClock team. Jonathan says: “I have been able to gain new skills as well as develop others, all whilst gaining valuable working experience which will continue to benefit me for the rest of my life!”.

This month we were excited to announce we have a rare opportunity to join our software development team.

From our base in Alnwick, in partnership with our associate company, Renishaw plc, we’re creating the next generation of precision-measurement technology for some of the biggest names in manufacturing and engineering and we need great people to help us do it.

We are currently looking for people who have experience in a software development role and working knowledge of C++/C, Java or Python. If that sounds like you, head to the job vacancy page to apply.

We have a flexible working approach and all roles can be office-based, remote or a mix of both depending on what works best for you!

Sponsors of the latest TechUP Programme

At MSP, we’re committed to finding ways of filling the skills gap in the engineering and manufacturing sectors and supporting programmes that aim to do this.

We were, therefore, delighted to be announced as an Industry Partner of the latest TechUP Programme this month.

TechUPWomen is designed for those who wish to start a career in Tech but have experienced barriers to education and the workplace. The programme for 2023 is focused on giving a strong foundation in general IT and IT support skills, plus workplace readiness skills to give participants the abilities needed for a Level 3 or 4 Apprenticeship.

This isn’t the first time we’re partnering with TechUP – we’re proud to have supported their previous TechUPWomen programmes and Skills Bootcamps.

For information on the programme for 2023 and guidelines on how to apply, visit this page.
