Leading software company MSP has been revealed as the headline sponsor of a major event in the UK aerospace calendar which attracts many of the leading experts and businesses in the industry.

The North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA) is hosting its sixth annual conference later this month, a conference which has established a reputation as a key event for businesses in the aerospace sector. The conference, the focus of which is ‘Preparing for a New Era’, will examine the future for the industry and its advances and challenges, which include digitalisation, new technology and geopolitical pressures.

The NWAA represents over 200 companies - accounting for over 25 per cent of the UK’s aerospace market - with a combined turnover of over £7 billion. Some of the leading names in the sector are among the keynote speakers at its 2019 conference, which is being held at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Blackburn on May 16.

MSP, based in Northumberland, which works extensively in the aerospace sector, has been named as platinum sponsor of the conference, with its Technical Director Peter Hammond also delivering a presentation on how to increase manufacturing productivity and part quality.

Peter - who has over 35 years’ experience in the sector and is a named inventor on five patented products - established MSP, alongside co-founder Tony Brown, to identify and eliminate errors at the start rather than the end of the manufacturing process.

MSP are revolutonising the way the advanced manufacturing industry make and measure parts around the world. Through the use of its flagship products, NC-Checker and NC-PerfectPart, the company has delivered significant cost and time savings to clients globally across the aerospace sector including BAE Systems, for which it saved £21 million over the lifetime of the F-35 project. MSP’s work has been acknowledged with three prestigious BAE Systems Chairman’s awards.

Peter said:

“I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to speak at the conference about the future of the aerospace industry. This year’s focus on preparing for a new era could not be more timely and I look forward to providing an insight into how companies can innovate to stay ahead in these uncertain times. This event also promises to be a great opportunity to meet other members and discuss how we can work together to improve the industry. The sector is always advancing and I look forward to what’s next.”
