A massive thank you to Biesse for hosting us this month.

Our Commercial Director, Tony Brown, and Director of Development, Marianne Whitfield, visited the Biesse head office in Pesaro to demonstrate how MSP’s products work with Biesse’s 5-axis CNC machines and to discuss other exciting developments. It’s exciting to see how MSP and Biesse can work together for ultimate precision CNC machining!

We were at the Engineering & Manufacturing awards this month.

We were shortlisted for two awards this year:

  • ‘Design Team of the Year’ for AutoClock
  • ‘Manufacturing Technology Innovation’ in conjunction with SST Technology

AutoClock was nominated for its unique ability to automate touch probe setup and calibration. Read more about AutoClock here.

Our work with SST was recognised for helping the company manufacture 7 times more parts a week and run their CNC machines 24 hours a day. Read the full story here.

We had some lovely news this month - our Senior Applications Engineer, Amanda, has been nominated for an award. She's been shortlisted in the ‘International Business' Category at the North East Chamber of Commerce Inspiring Female Awards.

This award recognises inspiring females across North East England who are making a difference in their field, to their businesses, to their colleagues and to their community.

Here’s just one of the lovely comments we received about Amanda during the application process:

“Amanda’s not only extremely knowledgeable in her field of expertise, she’s also full of enthusiasm and has a desire to provide outstanding support. She always goes the extra mile and, even under pressure, always wears a smile! Her positive attitude is infectious and inspiring to the members of our team she interacts with. She is a wonderful professional, a real credit to MSP”.

Congratulations Amanda – it is very well deserved.

EMO Hannover

AC-Renishaw-Website

Our Commercial Director, Tony Brown, and Director of Development, Marianne Whitfield, attended EMO Hannover this month.

They attended for a few days, offering advice for those who had product questions or were having issues with their CNC part production processes (with problems such as significant CNC machine downtime, long part setup times, or parts that keep failing final inspection).

Our products were also displayed on the Renishaw stand so attendees could learn about our CNC machine technologies and how they work alongside Renishaw’s probes to deliver precision measuring and machining!

MSP is now a member of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance

MAA-1

We’re delighted to announce we are now members of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance.

MSP has decades of experience helping the aerospace industry:

  • We prevent condition of supply variations affecting the finished part
  • We eliminate part to part variation
  • We shorten part setup times and make setup times consistent
  • We remove operator error and variation from setup process

As an example of our work in the aerospace and defence industry, we've helped BAE Systems reduce their production time for 7 days to 4 hours.

This month, a few of the team including Director of Operations, Margaret Toberty, attended the MAA Annual Dinner this month. They had a great time meeting and chatting with other members and look forward to more MAA events in the future.

Renishaw and MSP work together on exciting new product line

We were pleased to host members of Renishaw’s RobotServer team this month.

MSP play an integral part in Renishaw’s Robot product line - we’re involved in the communications between Renishaw's Robot suite of software products and the robot controllers.

The main aim of the visit was for our Robot development team to finally meet Renishaw’s core robot development team in-person. The visit has been successful to discuss future projects and developments for the products and also show what else MSP do in the world of right-first-time and automated CNC machining.

Thanks to the team for making the trip up to see us.
